【摘要】:ThisTechnicalSpecificationspecifiesahorizontalmethodfortheenumerationofβ-glucuronidase-positiveEscherichiacoli,bymeansoftheliquid-mediumculturetechniqueandcalculationofthemostprobablenumber(MPN)afterincubationat37℃,thenat44℃.ThisTechnicalSpecificationisapplicableto—productsintendedforhumanconsumptionandthefeedingofanimals,and—environmentalsamplesintheareaoffoodproductionandfoodhandling.ThemethodissuitablefortheenumerationofcellsofEscherichiacolithatmayhavebeensubjectedtostressarisingfromdehydration,freezing,exposuretoasaline(suchasmarine)environmentordamagebydisinfectantssuchaschlorine-containingproducts.AlimitationoftheapplicabilityofthisTechnicalSpecificationisimposedbythesusceptibilityofthemethodtoalargedegreeofvariability.ThemethodistobeappliedandtheresultsinterpretedinthelightoftheinformationgiveninClause11.WARNING—StrainsofEscherichiacolithatdonotgrowat44℃and,inparticular,thosethatareβ-glucuronidasenegative,suchasEscherichiacoliO157andsomeotherstrainsofpathogenicE.coli,willnotbedetectedbythemethoddescribedinthisTechnicalSpecification.
