【摘要】:Thistestmethodisintendedforusebythoseinwastemanagementindustriestoavoidpotentiallyharmfulreactionsduetooxidizingcompoundsinwastes.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedforusepriortopreparationofwastesamplesfororganicanalysis.Wastesamplesthathaveoxidizingcompoundsmayreactwithcertainreagentsinthelaboratory(forexample,organicsolvents).1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletotheanalysisofwasteliquids,sludges,andsolids.1.3Thistestmethodcanneitheridentifyspecificoxidizingcompoundsnormeasureconcentrations.Sincenoacidorbaseisaddedinthistestmethod,potentialoxidizersthatrequirethepresenceofacidorbasewillnotbedetectedbythistestmethod.1.4Itisrecommendedthat,priortothistest,wastesamplesbescreenedforwatercompatibility;seeTestMethodsD5058.1.5Thistestmethodisdesignedandintendedasapreliminarytesttocomplementquantitativeanalyticaltechniquesthatmaybeusedtodeterminethepresenceofoxidizersinwastes.Thistestmethodofferstheabilitytoscreenwasteforpotentiallyhazardousreactionsduetooxidizercontentwhenthemoresophisticatedtechniquesarenotavailableorthetotalwastecompositionisunknown.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementisgiveninSectionand8and11.2.
