【摘要】:Thepurposeofthisguideistwofold.First,itisaresearchtoolthatwillaidintheanalysisandcorrelationoftestresultsobtainedonvarioustestdevicesbydifferentinvestigators.Second,itservestoidentifyimportantconsiderationsthatmustbemadeintestingtomaketheresultseasilyunderstoodandcomparablewiththeresultsofotherinvestigators.1.1Thisguidecoversthefollowingareasforreportingfrictionandweartestresultsofmanufacturedcarbonandgraphitebearingandsealmaterials:1.1.1Descriptionoftestdeviceandtechniques(Table1andTable2.)1.1.2Descriptionofcarbonandgraphitematerialtestspecimen(Table3).1.1.3Descriptionofmatingmembertestspecimen(Table4).1.1.4Reportoffrictionandweartestresults(Table5).1.2Manytypesofequipmentandtechniqueswillyieldconsistentdatacharacterizingthefrictionandwearofcarbonandgraphitematerials.However,therankingofthematerialsbythevarioustestmethodsusedisnotnecessarilythesame.Thisguideisaninitialefforttopromotemorecompletedescriptionofthetestmethods,whatevertheymaybe.Itistheeventualintenttoidentifyoneormorespecificstandardtestmethodswhensufficientinformationbecomesavailable.
